Legendary actress Charlotte Rampling has been cast as the new face of NARS cosmetics at the age of 68.
The British film star, who is famous for her roles in films including Woody Allen’s Stardust Memories, will appear in a ‘black-and-white portrait-style image,’ for the brand's 20th anniversary, reports WWD.
Ms Rampling was chosen for the campaign because she is a longtime muse of NARS founder, Francois Nars.

Mr Nars told WWD that Ms Rampling is ‘a natural beauty that feels strong, yet relatable…[her] ability of transformation is unparalleled.
‘Whether captured in pieces of artwork, through the lens of a magazine photographer or on film and the big screen, she had an amazing power to encompass a character.’
The ads, which have been shot by Mr Nars himself, will appear in an assortment of fashion magazines.
The casting is a change-up for NARS, which typically features models like Lily Cole and Amber Valetta in its campaigns.

Ms Rampling has not appeared in an advertisement in the last ten years. In 2004, she was featured in Marc Jacobs’s campaigns, in which she appeared half-naked in bed with artist William Eggleston.
The actress, a mother-of-two, was a consummate sex symbol in the 1960s and ‘70s. She has been married twice.
Ms Rampling has been engaged to French communications entrepreneur Jean-Noel Tassez since 1998.
Last year she made appearances in two films, as well as a guest role on the TV show Dexter.

Ms Rampling has previously spoken out about her age saying: ;'This is how I am. I’m still a very attractive woman despite my age - so get used to it.' She has advised women: 'Don’t change your face and you can get really interesting parts - not just granny parts; you can get sexy parts, too.'
